“You think that being intelligent is great? ‘If only everyone in the world was as smart as you are’.
Being intelligent is like being at a mountaintop. Sure, it’s neat. It’s fantastic. What’s more, you can see and understand things from a perspective that others cannot.
But the mountain everyone thought was the epitome of existence is not only wondrous, but is cold and lonely… treacherous is a nice word to use here.
If there is one thing that I wish I could sacrifice in the name of happiness, it would be the isolation you feel when you realize that no one else knows what you’re talking about, not feeling the same things you are.
The fool would take pride in such a fact, the truly aware would realize the horror of sapient isolation.
